Journaling is a wonderful technique to express ourselves, to pour out our
heart and soul in a safe way. When we keep things inside, they fester and
grow, destroying any chance for inner peace. Writing them down and
talking about them is the doorway to freedom. One of the surest ways to
block peace of mind is to hold on to all of our fear, anger, and resentment
and not express it. When there is no one safe to speak to, or when we are
alone, journaling is the best way to release this block to inner peace

Dear Friends,
If you have an hour free at 6PM tonight, I hope you'll join me for meditation at the Elysian Fields bookstore in Sarasota. I'll be teaching a new mind body version of mindfulness, a sure way to relax and connect spiritually.
It's good for new and long time meditators.
I was walking from the gym to the flower shop the other day and the distance was much greater than I thought it would be. I looked up and my head was filled with thoughts such as "I'm exhausted! I should have driven instead. I just worked out. What was I thinking?" And the walk became harder and harder with each step.
Until...
I realized I was creating the heaviness I was feeling by concentrating on how far I had to walk. What a heavy load. So a change in my thinking, a letting go, made all the difference in the world.
Breathing in. A step.
Breathing out. Another step
One breath at a time. One step at a time.
I felt the breeze, the sun, my arms swinging, my breath, my smile.
And before I knew it I had arrived at the flower shop feeling refreshed and renewed.
